2020 Postponement FAQ’s

2020 Postponement FAQ’s

The following are answers to questions that we anticipate you may have.  As always, please also feel free to reach out to us by phone or email at any time.
What is the credit and/or refund policy for this summer?

We appreciate the trust and loyalty of our camp families.  To that end, our goal in creating our credit/refund policy was to make you whole by allowing each family to select an option that works best for them.

  • Option 1: Transfer your payment to summer 2021 & lock in 2020 pricing. This option will guarantee your space for next summer at the summer 2020 tuition rates.  This credit may also be used for any other family members attending camp in 2021 or towards Family Camp IF we are able to run it.  If you enrolled in our CAP assurance program that will carry forward to 2021 as well.

*If you are able to select this option, we would truly appreciate it. It will significantly help cover the many expenses that camp incurs throughout the year.

  • Option 2: Refund all payments made. We are committed to providing you with a 100% refund over time if you are not able to transfer your payment to next summer.
  • Option 3: One-time Payout.  For families that would like a one-time payment, we are able to return 85% of monies paid.  Payments will be returned, on the original form of payment, in August 2020.

To review the options available to you please log in to MyMKN and view the 2020 COVID Credit/Refund Form on your Forms Dashboard

Our bags are already registered with R & B Baggage, what should I do?

R & B will either issue a credit for 2021 or a refund to the original payment method on a case by case basis. Either way, families will not lose anything.  R & B Baggage will be reaching out to each registered family to confirm your preference.

My son is a 2020 Seneca. What is the plan for this age group?

We understand the special and important nature of the Seneca experience.  We are committed to providing a meaningful Summer 2021 experience for this group should they be interested.  We plan to engage Seneca ’20 campers and parents in the weeks to come to discuss options so that we can plan accordingly.

My son is a 2020 Brave. What is the plan for this age group?

In the coming weeks, we will reach out to our 2020 Braves to talk about options for 2021.  We are committed to coming up with a program that fits their interests which could still include leadership training, community service trip options, and the opportunity to work with our younger campers at MKN.

Will there be any available programming onsite, at camp this summer?

We are looking into the possibility of “Family Camp” which would allow you to rent a cabin and enjoy a low-key experience at camp for a week this summer.  More MA State guidelines, travel restrictions, and health recommendations will factor into our planning of this program.  We will be in touch soon with more information and details.

Will Mah-Kee-Nac be open for Summer 2021?

YES! And next summer will be the most EXTRAORDINARY one yet!  We cannot wait for the day where we can all be together at camp again.  We have been here for over 90 summers and plan to be here for at least 90 more!

Do you have any advice on how to help my son handle this disappointment?

The following are two articles by organizations/professionals we highly respect and as always you can feel free to reach out to us directly.  We are more than happy to talk with you and your son as he processes his feelings and emotions.
