As we gear up for another incredible summer in the Berkshires, we’re thrilled to share some major new additions coming to Camp Mah-Kee-Nac! Whether you’re a returning camper or getting ready for your very first summer with us, there are tons of fresh adventures and upgrades to look forward to. Here’s what’s new for Summer 2025:
Pickleball & Paddle Tennis Center
We’re serving up something special this year with the brand new Pickleball and Paddle Tennis Center! Located on the Upper Senior Campus, this space is designed for friendly matches, new skills, and epic tournaments. Whether you’re already a paddle pro or just trying out pickleball for the first time, this center will be the place to play hard and have fun.
New Media Center: Lights, Camera, MKN!
Calling all future broadcasters, podcasters, and filmmakers — our brand-new Media Center is ready to inspire! This creative hub features:
- A Broadcasting Anchor Desk for news, interviews, and daily camp updates
- A state-of-the-art Podcasting Studio
- A full Videography Studio with gear and editing space
From morning shows to end-of-summer highlights, campers will have endless opportunities to tell stories, express themselves, and learn new media skills.
Showers in Every USR Bunk
Big upgrade alert for our Upper Senior campers! All USR bunks now have in-bunk showers, including for our Cherokees! That means more comfort, more convenience, and more time for the fun stuff.

New Music Pit for Instrument Storage & Band Rehearsals
Our new Music Pit is music to our ears (and yours)! Designed for instrument storage and band jams, the space supports a full lineup of gear including electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, percussion sets, and more. Whether you’re strumming your first chords or prepping for the camp talent show, the Music Pit is your new go-to creative zone.
Horseback Riding Now Available!
Saddle up! We’re adding Horseback Riding as an optional paid activity through our new MKN Homefarm Riding Program at Under Mountain Farm. Campers will head out once or twice weekly for two-hour sessions where they’ll:
- Learn horsemanship, grooming, and tacking
- Ride English or Western depending on their level
- Practice both mounted and unmounted skills
- Gain confidence and connect with these beautiful animals
Each camper’s final session will include a scenic trail ride through fields, woods, and streams—soaking in the beauty of Parsons Marsh and the surrounding Berkshires. It’s the perfect blend of adventure, nature, and growth.
