Here’s what’s new at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac for Summer 2023
At Camp Mah-Kee-Nac we utilize an elective-based program to encourage the power of choice, where boys can learn new skills, stay active, meet new friends and, most importantly, have fun!
There’s truly something for everyone. With summer camp activities focused on sports, waterfront, adventure, and media and S.T.E.M., your child is in for a great summer! This year we’re offering even more! Here’s what’s coming to camp this summer:
Programs and Activities
Under the guidance of our exceptional staff, Mah-Kee-Nac campers can take full advantage of our elective-based program. It allows boys to both try new things and focus on familiar interests. They gain confidence from exploration and from mastery of skills. Every child is different and we pride ourselves on being able to support each camper’s individual growth.
This year we have a few new and exciting activities. Camp MKN will now be offering boxing, kickboxing and pickleball elective sport activities With the very popular Film Festival as a highlight of our Media and S.T.EM. program, 3D design will now also be included as a new activity! Campers of all experience levels are welcome to participate.
For our younger campers, we are now offering a two-week Mini Mak Program, only to new boys entering 2nd through 5th grade. Mini Mak’ers will participate in all camp activities and special events and be fully integrated into our Junior Camp! The option to extend for the last week of camp is available and encouraged for Mini Mak’ers if they’d like. Facilities
Our athletic program is supported by the various state-of-the-art courts, fields, and facilities at MKN, including: 10 har-tru clay tennis courts, 2 hardcourt tennis courts, 4 outdoor basketball courts, 1 indoor fieldhouse and weight room, 2 baseball fields, 2 soccer fields, 1 football/lacrosse field, our driving range and chip n’ putt course, 1 outdoor hockey rink and our Olympic sized heated swimming pool.
This summer we are upgrading some facilities, an updated, modern fitness center, new GaGa pits on TJC campus, and a new gym floor in the field house!
However, camp is not just about buildings and amenities, it’s about the people and the community. MKN prides itself on being a summer home to over 300 boys from all over the world. Our boys return summer after summer to MKN where they can laugh loudly, act kindly, try confidently, and be supported and encouraged professionally and lovingly to do the things they love surrounded by their summer family.
